Sony has been flooding the market with various mid-range phones since the launch of its Sony Xperia T. The Xperia series has had a good welcome due to its various features and the functionality that fulfills the expectations of mid-range users. All the models in the series have many common features, but still the market is open for many more similar models with different sets of features. Sony Xperia E is a gorgeous phone with cool features making it more adorable. The looks and specs promise that the budget conscious buyers will not be searching for another phone for at least a year. Though not all the features are revealed, one sure thing is that the functionality will be nothing less than the Xperia J.
It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Sony Xperia E measures 4.3×2.4×0.43 inches and weighs 4.08 ounces. It is available in three colors: black, white and pink. The most attractive feature is the HD voice. With HD Voice, you can enjoy clear call quality to both devices supported by HD Voice and devices without HD Voice support. It has a noise filtering feature which filters background noise and transmits your voice as clearly as you speak. It also comes loaded with a data usage app that will notify you of the amount of data you’ve used. The app also sets the phone to stand-by mode if the screen is idle for a few minutes.
The power saving app also blocks all Wi-Fi and data traffic automatically, helping you save both money and battery charge. Once you liven up the screen with a tap, the activity you were doing will resume and you can continue it without missing a beat. Sony Xperia E is also available with a dual SIM option which makes it easier for you to manage your data plans. You can switch between two carriers easily and choose a carrier who offers economical data plans for internet surfing. You can also sign up for a phone plan with another carrier who offers economical phone plans. It sports a 3.5 inch HVGA display delivering a resolution of 320×480 pixels.
The other specs give us an idea that we’ll find ICS rather than Jelly Bean, but since Sony has announced that it will work on Jelly Bean, we will have to wait until the launch to see how well it works on the display. The phone will support wireless DNLA connectivity and will be supported by a 1,500mAh battery. It comes preloaded with the WALKMAN application which gives you more control over the way in which you listen to music. You get access to millions of music tracks available through the streaming service, which can also be accessed on other devices like your tablet or TV. Its built-in xLOUD technology, manual equalizer and 3D surround sound help you adjust the audio quality to suit your tastes.
To wrap up, Sony Xperia E is a smartphone with cool features, which will catch up quickly among the mid-end customers. It is expected to reach us in the first quarter of 2013, and that means anytime between January and March. There’s enough time to wait and watch if anything better shows up before Sony Xperia E makes its way to the shelves.
